Lehigh Valley Watershed Conference
The Third Lehigh Valley Watershed Conference was held this year at DeSales University on Friday, October 9, 2009. This event was organized by the Lehigh and Northampton County Conservation Districts, Lehigh University, the Saucon Creek Watershed Association, Wildlands Conservancy, and the Nurture Nature Foundation.
The previous two Lehigh Valley Watershed Conferences were very successful, with over 200 participants attending talks on a variety of water resource and environmental resource issues. The title of this year's conference was "Planting Seeds for a Green Future." The conference featured talks focusing on green building and technology, and sustainable agriculture. There were also presentations on biodiversity and stormwater management. As in previous years, the Lehigh Valley Watershed Conference brought together watershed groups, municipal officials, educators, scientists, technical experts, agencies, and industry representatives to forge partnerships to effectively protect and enhance resources in the Lehigh Valley area.
