The Lehigh County Conservation District is thrilled to host the 2026 Hellbender Hustle, a scenic 5-mile trail run/walk around beautiful Leaser Lake!
This winding course takes participants through Pennsylvania’s diverse meadows, woodlands, and streamside habitats, offering opportunities to experience native plants and wildlife while tackling a variety of terrain and elevations.
The day kicks off with the Dragonfly Dash, a free 100-yard sprint for children ages 12 and under. Throughout the morning, families can enjoy educational activities and lawn games. Awards will be presented to the top finishers, and leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun.
Celebrate the Eastern Hellbender—North America’s largest salamander and Pennsylvania’s official state amphibian—while spending a memorable morning outdoors. This unique event highlights the importance of protecting this remarkable native species and the habitats it calls home.
