Several hundred 5th grade students were exposed to science and related subjects last week at the Springhouse Middle School STEAMM EXPO. Staff from the Conservation District set up an indoor stream to teach students about the importance of protecting water quality, while participating in a “mock” stream study. Students painted rocks with nature-themed graphics, while learning about Pennsylvania amphibians, fish, and aquatic species that thrive in our local freshwater streams.
